Topic 3: It's all about Jesus and discipleship
It should be obvious when you walk into a Catholic school that the person of Jesus - his life, teachings and actions, death and resurrection - is at the heart of the life and mission of the school. The first hints may take the form of symbols such as the school name, crests and motto but these are just decorations unless they find expression in the lives and work of the students and especially the staff. The spirit of the crucified and risen Christ, represented on crosses throughout the school, must live in the witness of individual staff members and the community of the school. The meaning of the Cross on the wall in the school office becomes clear to those you serve in your care and service as an administrative assistant. Our work to ensure the Catholic identity and mission of our schools must continue to draw not only on the inspiration of Jesus, but on a relationship with him as the Risen Christ, present and active in and through our ministry and mission as a school community.
